The Hohle Fels Venus or Venus of Schelklingen, a fertility object with massive emphasis on the sexual regions, discovered in 2008 in a cave near Ulm in Germany. Carved from the tusk of a woolly mammoth, and dated somewhere between 40,000 and 30,000 years ago, it is at present by a considerable margin the earliest known figurative sculpture.
