This is one of only three surviving great helms of the mid-14th century which were probably made in England. The other two are those of Edward the Black Prince at Canterbury Cathedral, and the helm of Sir Richard Pembridge from Hereford Cathedral, now in the Royal Museum, Edinburgh.iv.600
