Dolbadarn Castle

Dolbadarn Castle was probably built by the Welsh prince, Llywelyn ab Iorwerth ('the Great'), early in the thirteenth century. Strategically sited between Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris, the site is still imposing today, dominated by a massive round-towered keep, which stands up to 50 feet (15.2m) high.
