Gold seal of Henry VIII, 1527 This is a reproduction of the gold seal in the Archives Nationales in Paris that King Henry VIII of England attached to his ratification of the treaty of perpetual peace with King Francis I of France in 1527.

On the front, it shows King Henry VIII seated on a canopied throne. The legend gives his title.

The reverse shows the arms of France and England quarterly, surmounted by a crown and surrounded by the collar of the Order of the Garter. The legend reads 'Ordine junguntur et perstant foedere cuncta' 'All things are joined by order and stand firm by treaty'.

The design of the seal has been attributed to the artist, Hans Holbein.
