Work by Benjamin *Britten in which a narrator describes the various sections of the orchestra; his words are illustrated in Britten's variations on an incidental tune from a play of 1695, Abdelazer (the subtitle is Variations and Fugue on a Theme of Purcell). The piece was originally the score for a documentary film.
