The Winslow Boy
|
|
(1946) Play by Terence *Rattigan based on a real case in 1911 . A 13-year-old cadet, Ronnie Winslow, has been expelled from the Royal Naval College at Osborne for stealing a five-shilling postal order. He protests his innocence and his stern father begins a long fight to clear his son's name. In the pursuit of justice the family suffers all sorts of privations and embarrassments, not least of which is the supercilious arrogance of the famous barrister who finally agrees to take the case and then wins it.
