Wilmington Long Man

|
(24km/15m E of Brighton) Chalk figure of a man with a staff in each hand, about 70m/230ft high, cut into the side of Windhover Hill. First described in the 18C, and tidied up in the 19C, the figure is nevertheless believed to date back to the Middle Ages and possibly to Anglo-Saxon times.
