(London SW1) Famous in the decades after World War II as the home of farce. The tradition began in 1945 with R.F. Delderfield's long-running Worm's Eye View. In 1950 Brian Rix took over the theatre and began with two resounding successes, Colin Morris's Reluctant Heroes (1950) and John Chapman's Dry Rot (1954).
