(London SW1) Terminus which now combines two adjacent stations built in the 1860s, one running trains to Brighton and the other serving Chatham and Dover. It was the Brighton company which built the Grosvenor Hotel in 1860–1. Victoria is now, like *Waterloo, a main commuter terminal for the region south of London.
