Trelawny of the 'Wells'
|
|
(1898) Romantic comedy by *Pinero about the appeal of theatre itself. Rose Trelawny, star of the Bagnigg Wells company in the heyday of *melodrama, leaves to marry into a respectable family; but even before the wedding she has returned to the stage. Romantic disappointments are avoided when her fiancé abandons his family to appear in the new production as her leading man.
