sword dance
|
|
Two distinct versions of sword dancing have been traditional in Britain. In the linked-sword dances of northeast England the dancers hold the tips of each others' swords and perform feats of agility over and under the resulting barriers. In the solo sword dance of Scotland two swords are crossed on the ground and the dancer must perform rapid steps between them without touching the blades.
