Steptoe and Son
|
|
(BBC 1964–73) One of Britain's classic television series, finding both comedy and pathos in the relationship between a father and son in the rag-and-bone trade. The wilful and eccentric old father (Wilfrid Brambell) and the exasperated son (Harry H. Corbett) almost invariably frustrate each other's most cherished plans, either accidentally or deliberately. The scripts were by Ray Galton (b. 1930) and Alan Simpson (b. 1929).
