(32km/20m NE of Cheltenham) House built 1798–1805 with an exterior using Indian motifs (some years before the *Royal Pavilion at Brighton). The architect, Samuel Pepys Cockerell (1754–1827), was surveyor to the East India Company and was advised on the design of the house by Thomas *Daniell. The interior is in the conventional neoclassical style of the time.
