St George's Hospital

Charity hospital established at London's Hyde Park Corner in 1733 by a splinter group from the *Westminster Hospital. It was rebuilt in the late 1820s by William Wilkins. In 1980 the hospital and its medical school moved to Tooting, in south London. The building at Hyde Park Corner was reopened in 1991 as the Lanesborough Hotel.
