St Bartholomew the Great

The oldest surviving church in London, and all that remains of the priory founded in about 1123 by *Rahere alongside St Bartholomew's Hospital (commonly known as *Bart's). The present church is the original choir, built in Rahere's time; it contains a 16C monument to him. The nave was demolished in the *dissolution of the monasteries.
