Pimm's
|
|
Summer drink in which lemonade, sliced fresh fruit and ice cubes are added to a base of Pimm's. The name derives from a restaurant belonging to James Pimm in the late 19C in Poultry, a street in the City of London. Pimm offered his customers a choice of six fruit cups, each using a different spirit for its alcohol content, and the drink became so popular that his recipe was marketed commercially. Nowadays a Pimm's almost invariably uses the gin-based No. 1 Cup, though No. 3 (vodka) is also available.
