Paddington Bear
|
|
The hero of numerous books and TV series by Michael Bond (b. 1926). He is so named because in the first book (A Bear Called Paddington 1958) he is found by the Brown family on Paddington station in London with a label saying 'Please look after this bear'. They take him home and all else follows, including eventually the sale of huge numbers of teddy bears wearing Paddington's characteristic hat, duffel coat and wellington boots.
