Oh What a Lovely War
|
|
(1963) Entertainment devised by Joan *Littlewood and her Theatre Workshop company which achieved a powerful effect (satirical and yet sentimental) by enacting the story of World War I in the form of an end-of-pier entertainment, interspersed with the highly evocative songs of the period. It was directed by Richard *Attenborough as a film in 1969.
