(1976) Ballet by *Ashton, based on Turgenev's play and choreographed to a selection of piano music by Chopin, arranged by John Lanchbery. The part of the lady of the house, Natalia Petrovna, was created by Lynn Seymour; and that of Beliaev, the tutor whose romantic effect on both Natalia and her ward Vera disrupts the household, by Anthony Dowell.
