Murrayfield

(Edinburgh) Scotland's national *rugby stadium, where all home international matches are now played (the first was a *Calcutta Cup engagement in 1925). In 1959 Murrayfield became the first ground to install electric heating cables beneath the turf, to make it playable even in severe frost. In the early 1990s the stadium is being considerably enlarged. The district of Murrayfield also contains *Edinburgh Zoo.
