Levens Hall
|
|
(24km/15m N of Lancaster) House which has grown up round a *peel tower of the 13C. The main rooms, added in the late 16C, have superb Elizabethan panelling and patterned plaster ceilings. But the greatest treasure of Levens Hall is its topiary garden, laid out in the 1690s and miraculously preserved in a developed version of its original form.
