Mauretania

The outstanding ship of the *Cunard Line, launched in 1906 as a sister ship to the *Lusitania. They were the first liners to be driven by *steam turbines, and the Mauretania held the blue riband (for the fastest crossing of the Atlantic) for an unprecedented 22 years (1907–29). She was broken up in 1935.
