Manx cat
|
|
Tailless cat, usually with a coat in two colours, which has been bred for perhaps as much as three centuries in the *Isle of Man. The legend is that their two ancestors only just got on to the Ark, losing their tails when Noah slammed the door. In practice most litters have some tailless kittens (known as 'rumpies') and others with very short tails ('stumpies'). Kittens are often stillborn if rumpies are too consistently interbred.
