Alistair MacLean
|
|
(1922–87) Scottish author of a string of best-selling thrillers, including The Guns of Navarone (1957) and Where Eagles Dare (1967). His publishers were fined in 1991 under the trading laws after MacLean's ideas for plots, unused by him at the time of his death, were turned into books by others but marketed under his name. The results became known in the book trade as MacLones.
