The Listener
|
|
Weekly magazine launched by the BBC in 1929 to preserve in print the best of its radio talks. This remained the basis, but arts reviews and general features were soon added. As a leading cultural and literary magazine, the Listener had a circulation in the 1950s of about 150,000. By the 1990s this had fallen to less than 20,000, and the last issue was published in January 1991.
