Humber
|
|
Deepwater estuary in northeast England, with Hull on the north bank as its major port. It begins at the confluence of the rivers Ouse and Trent and stretches about 68km/42m to the North Sea. The Humber Estuary Bridge, crossing just to the west of Hull, was opened in 1981; in 1992 it still retained its record as the world's longest span (1410m/4626ft).
