Shingle strip 29km/18m long on the coast of Dorset, separating an elongated lake (the Fleet) from the sea and reaching to the Isle of Portland. Nature has mysteriously sorted the pebbles by size; at the northern end they are smaller than ping pong balls and at the southern too large for tennis.
