Grampians
|
|
A term used rather loosely for the range of hills and mountains running northeast across Scotland from Oban. The *Cairngorms are an extension to the north in central Scotland. It was probably just short of the eastern part of the range that the Romans won the victory of Mons *Graupius, of which the name Grampian is a corruption.
