Goldilocks
|
|
and the Three Bears Goldilocks herself was the final addition to this much retold story, first printed in the early 19C as a tale of an old woman visiting the house of the three bears and trying their porridge and their beds. By 1850 the intruder was a more sympathetic little girl, called Silver-Hair. Later she became Golden Hair, and in the early 20C finally emerged as Goldilocks. Her story is sometimes made the basis for *pantomime.
