Flook
|
|
Strip cartoon drawn by Trog (Wally Fawkes) which appeared in the Daily Mail from 1949 to 1984 and was then transferred for a while to the Daily Mirror. It was written by several authors including Humphrey Lyttelton and George Melly. Flook is a furry animal with a white face and a snout, loosely resembling a baby elephant on its hind legs but with magical powers. His companion is a boy, Rufus. Intended originally for children, Flook and Rufus developed into a couple of innocents whose experiences in swinging London provided good opportunities for adult satire and comedy.
