Fettes College
|
|
One of Scotland's leading *public schools, situated in Edinburgh. It was founded in 1870 according to the terms of a bequest by William Fettes (1750–1836), a wine and tea merchant who was twice Lord Provost of Edinburgh. The school buildings are a bizarre combination of French chateau and *Scottish baronial, by David Bryce.
