Down at the Old Bull and Bush

A favourite *music-hall song which sounds quintessentially English but was in fact American in origin. Written by Harry Von Tilzer (1872–1946) as Down Where the Wurzburger Flows, it was first sung in Britain by Florrie *Forde in 1903. Criticized for singing about a German river, she commissioned new words and scored a lasting hit.
