(10km/6m E of Northampton) Village with a magnificent Saxon church (All Saints, 10C). The west tower is famous for its 'long and short work' (alternating vertical and horizontal slabs at the outer edges of the tower) and for the decorative stone strips on the flat surfaces, in patterns similar to wood on the exterior of a timber-frame building.
