Debrett's

The familiar name for the Peerage and Baronetage, which is the only current work of reference on Britain's titled families. It dates back to The New Peerage, published by John Almon in 1769. John Debrett (1753–1822) took on Almon's business in 1784; he first put his own name on the Peerage in 1802 and on the Baronetage (then a separate publication) in 1808. From 1866 to 1971 the Peerage and Baronetage was published annually. Since 1980 it has appeared every five years.
