Company formed in 1919 by the amalgamation of two Coventry firms, Armstrong-Whitworth and Siddeley-Deasy. Cars were produced under this name, mostly at the top end of the market, until 1960. The company was also a major producer of aircraft engines, evolving in 1935 into *Hawker Siddeley.
