Court of St James's
|
|
The official name of the royal court of Britain, because *St James's Palace was the main royal residence in London during the 18C, when the phrase was established. Diplomats from foreign countries are described as being accredited to the Court of St James's, though new ambassadors present their credentials to the queen in a ceremony at Buckingham Palace.
