Amadeus
|
|
(1979) Play by Peter *Shaffer in which the two main characters are Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (presented as exaggeratedly childish and scurrilous, on the grounds of some infantile passages in his letters) and another historical figure, the craftsmanlike composer Antonio Salieri. The drama and the poignancy comes from the jealous Salieri being painfully aware that his rival is a genius. It was filmed in 1984 by Milos Forman.
