Castle Campbell
|
|
(21km/13m E of Stirling) Romantic ruined castle (15–17C) at the head of a wooded glen. Its surroundings have a Bunyanesque quality, for it is in the parish of Dollar (or Dolour), while Gloom Hill and the streams of Sorrow and Care are nearby. The castle was largely destroyed by Cromwell's troops in 1654.
