brides in the bath

|
Famous murder case of 1915, in which George Joseph Smith, a Bristol antique dealer, was convicted of murdering three wives in succession by drowning them in the bath. A rich detail which has stuck in popular memory is his having gone into the sitting room, while the body of one bride was still in the bath, to play Nearer, my God, to Thee on the harmonium.
