Bosworth Field

(22 Aug. 1485)
Battle in Leicestershire, some 5km/3m south of the town of Market Bosworth, in which *Richard III was defeated and killed by the man who then took the crown as *Henry VII. Few details are known about the battle itself, but a highly dramatic version of it provides the final scenes of Shakespeare's *Richard III.
