Bond Street
|
|
(London W1) An architecturally undistinguished street, long famous as the capital city's most expensive shopping thoroughfare. It takes its name from Thomas Bond, a speculator involved in the 1680s in building the southern part, now Old Bond Street. New Bond Street, the extension to the north, was added in the early 18C.
