Belleek ware
|
|
Porcelain made since 1857 in the village of Belleek in County Fermanagh. It is known for its extremely thin almost eggshell quality, translucent and with a pearly lustre. Within a wide range of products, the most famous designs have been dishes in the form of shells and open-weave baskets decorated with flowers and leaves. Various factories in the USA later imitated the style and used the name.
