(19km/12m SE of Tunbridge Wells) Research plantation specializing in conifers native to Britain, established jointly in 1924 by *Kew Gardens and the *Forestry Commission, and now run by the Forestry Commission alone. The site was chosen because a wide range of ornamental conifers already existed there, planted in 1850–70 by a previous owner.
