Adam style

The style in interior decoration, furniture and ornament introduced by Robert *Adam and much copied. It retains the lightness of *rococo within a *neoclassical framework. Adam's characteristic colour scheme, particularly on ceilings, is often described as acid, akin to the range seen in assorted fruit drops.
