Beaker folk
|
|
Name given to people spread widely through continental Europe in about 3000 BC, characterized by the bell-shaped beakers or drinking vessels, with linear cord-like patterns on the surface, which are found in their tombs. They arrived in Britain some time before 2000 BC. They made much use of copper and may have been instrumental in the transition in Britain from the late *Stone Age to the *Bronze Age.
