King of Scotland from 1107, son of Malcolm III; he succeeded his brother Edgar. He seems to have acknowledged *Henry I of England as his overlord, fighting with him against the Welsh and marrying his illegitimate daughter, Sibylla. He was succeeded by his brother David I (see the *royal house of Scotland).
