Holland House
|
|
(London W8) Jacobean house which was a famous salon in the early 19C, when Lord Holland (a nephew of Charles James *Fox) and his formidable wife entertained a galaxy of writers and politicians. The house was bombed in World War II. Its remains and the surrounding Holland Park were bought in 1952 by the London County Council for the use of the public.
